The proposed store is 4,000 square feet and would be located next to the new Chipotle. Panera has 1,600 locations around the country and has long has been involved in anti-hunger efforts, including its Operation Dough-Nation program that donates unsold baked goods.

The company has also opened numerous “Pay What You Can” stores that give a suggested price, but allow customers to pay what they want. It’s not clear what format the Rohnert Park store would be. Calls to the company’s headquarters were not returned.
