Pedestrian Fatally Struck By 2 Trucks On Todd Road

The preliminary investigation indicated a man was hunched over or crawling in the roadway, the California Highway Patrol said.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck early Monday morning on Todd Road in southwest Santa Rosa.

Officers with the Santa Rosa California Highway Patrol responded at 5:45 a.m. Monday to reports that a pedestrian was down in the roadway on Todd Road near Moorland Avenue, CHP Officer David deRutte said.

"Upon arrival of emergency personnel, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased," deRutte said.

The preliminary investigation indicated a man was hunched over or crawling in the roadway when a dump truck traveling eastbound on Todd Road collided with the pedestrian.

Following this impact, a Chevrolet truck that was traveling in the westbound lane of Todd Road also collided with the pedestrian, deRutte said.

The Sonoma County Coroner’s office was working to identity the man.

The Santa Rosa CHP Office asked anyone with information about the crash to call 707-588-1400.
