Pedestrian Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Crash Near Graton Casino

A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a vehicle near Rohnert Park early Wednesday morning.

ROHNERT PARK, CA - A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a vehicle near Rohnert Park early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Jessie Jimenez, 31, of Vallejo, was driving a 2015 Honda Civic west on Wilfred Avenue east of Labath Avenue near the Graton Resort & Casino when he struck William Baumgartner, 24, of Santa Rosa around 12:25 a.m., CHP officials said.

Baumgartner was walking south across Wilfred Avenue directly into the path of the Honda and Jimenez said he did not see the pedestrian, according to the CHP.

Baumgartner suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Jimenez did not appear to be impaired but whether Baumgartner was impaired is under investigation, CHP officials said.
