Pickup Driver in Double Fatal Crash From American Canyon
The head-on collision closed Highway 121 in both directions for several hours Wednesday.

The California Highway Patrol has identified the driver of the pickup truck that was involved in a crash that killed a married Petaluma couple this morning as 27-year-old Christopher Shuman of American Canyon.
The CHP is still investigating the crash that occurred just after 9 a.m. on state Highway 121 just west of Napa Road east of Schellville in Sonoma County.
Physical evidence indicates the Shuman’s white 2007 Chevrolet Silverado work truck was heading south on the highway but crossed into the northbound lane and stuck a silver 2010 Ford Fusion, CHP Officer Anna Paulson
said.

The three occupants of the vehicles were wearing seat belts, Paulson said.
The CHP said earlier today that Shuman’s Silverado drifted onto the dirt right shoulder during a left hand curve, Shuman over-corrected and drove into the northbound lane.
The 9:10 a.m. collision closed Highway 121 until around 1 p.m.
