Police Arrest Local Man Suspected Of Having Child Sexual Abuse Materials

A Rohnert Park man was arrested this week on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material following a months-long investigation.

ROHNERT PARK-COTATI, CA — Police arrested A 37-year-old Rohnert Park man suspected of possessing child sexual abuse material after a months-long investigation, authorities said.

Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety detectives arrested David Griffin Giovannini at his home on Wednesday, police said.

The investigation began in August 2025 when the department received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children via the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to Rohnert Park police.

Detectives identified Giovannini, served multiple search warrants, and seized several electronic devices, police said.

Investigators later found suspected child sexual abuse material on those devices, police said.

On Tuesday, a Ramey warrant — an arrest warrant issued by a judge before prosecutors file formal criminal charges — was issued. Police arrested Giovannini on Wednesday, police said.

Giovannini was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material. His bail is $30,000.
