Police say no arrest was made and there is no threat to the community.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — Police in Rohnert Park said Monday they are no longer searching for a suspect in a kidnapping and rape that reportedly occurred at a local park. Without disclosing much detail, police told Patch the case has been closed and no arrest was made.
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety first asked the community for its help in locating a suspect March 3, after a purported victim reported being kidnapped the afternoon of Feb. 27 from Benicia "B" Park, 7450 Santa Barbara Dr., in Rohnert Park. Police said the victim described being at the park with a friend. After the friend left is when the victim was reportedly approached and kidnapped, then sexually assaulted, the victim told police.
Along with providing a description of the suspected kidnapper and rapist, Rohnert Park police advised community members to be aware of their surroundings and to take extra precautions for personal safety.
