Police Seek Witnesses In Crashes Involving 2 Child Bicyclists
The drivers left the scene of the crashes Wednesday morning in Rohnert Park, police said. A third crash involved a pedestrian.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety responded to three traffic collisions Wednesday in the city, two of which involved children riding bicycles.
The first incident was reported at 7:20 a.m. when a car struck a pedestrian who was crossing Rohnert Park Expressway at San Simeon Drive. The adult pedestrian was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and provided statements about the collision, police said.

The second incident happened at 7:40 a.m. when a car struck a bicyclist who was crossing Snyder Lane at the Copeland Creek Trail crossing. The car, described as a light blue or purple sedan or small SUV, left the scene of the crash, police said.
The driver was described as a woman around 50 years old with shoulder-length black and gray hair. Although witnesses told her to stay at the scene, she was last seen traveling south on Snyder Lane, police said.

The juvenile bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The third incident happened at 8:05 a.m. when a car struck a bicyclist who was crossing Snyder Lane near Lawrence Jones Middle School. Witnesses described the car as a red vehicle with California license plate number 7YPM635 and said the car was turning southbound onto Snyder from the school parking lot when it hit the bicyclist.
Though the driver stopped to speak with the bicyclist, they left the scene without identifying themself, police said.
The juvenile bicyclist suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Alcohol/drugs were not believed to be factors in any of the collisions, police said
Police asked anyone with any information about any of the incidents to call the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety at 707-584-2600 and refer to the corresponding case number noted for each collision. The case number for the pedestrian crash is 22-3945; the case number for the bicycle crash on Snyder Lane near Copeland Creek Trail is 22-3946 and the number for the bicycle crash near Lawrence Jones Middle School is 22-3947.
