Police Seize Loaded Firearm In Traffic Stop

Santa Rosa police recovered a loaded handgun Thursday evening and arrest Solano County teen.

ROHNERT PARK-COTATI, CA —Santa Rosa Police arrested a 19-year-old prohibited from carrying firearms after finding a loaded handgun in his car during a traffic stop.

Officers from the Santa Rosa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team stopped the vehicle near Santa Rosa Avenue and Yolanda Avenue about 8 p.m. Thursday.

During the traffic stop, a K-9 police dog detected an unregistered .40-caliber handgun in the center console of teen's vehicle.

Police arrested the driver, Airiden Wilkerson, of Dixon.

Dixon had been arrested in Solano County and was barred from having or carrying a firearm. Police transported him to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
