Recognize This Guy? Cops Believe He Swiped Pellet Gun from Area Sporting Goods Store

He fled on foot after employees tried stopping him outside the Big 5 in Petaluma, police said. [BREAKING]

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – The Petaluma Police Department today released surveillance photos of a male suspect allegedly involved in the theft Tuesday of a pellet gun from a local sporting goods store.

Officers were called at 9 p.m. to Big 5 Sporting Goods at 105 N. McDowell Blvd. in Petaluma after an employee reported a man entered the store, selected a black and tan Beretta PX4 Storm Recon Air Pistol Pellet Gun, which was equipped with a mounted red dot laser and flashlight, then quickly exited without paying, police said.

Employees confronted the suspect outside the store, and he fled on foot, police said.

The suspect was described as white, approximately 25 years old, 6 feet tall and about 180 pounds. He had tattoos on his neck, a piercing on his left cheek, and was wearing a black beanie, a black leather jacket, a gray hoodie, blue jeans, light grey and tan shoes and a purple backpack.

Investigators obtained images of the man from video surveillance and also distributed a sample photograph of the type of gun stolen.
