Report Of Gun At West County High School Prompts Lockdown
West County High School administrators and the Sebastopol Police Department investigated the report but no gun was found, police said.

SEBASTOPOL, CA — Students at West County High School in Sebastopol were placed on lockdown Thursday while authorities investigated a report that a student brought a gun on campus, the Sebastopol Police Department said.
School administrators called police around 11:15 a.m. Thursday about a secondhand report of a student who possibly had a gun, police said.
"Based on the available information at the time of the report, the school administration followed established procedures for a school lockdown," police said.

Sebastopol police officers and school administrators talked with the students who made the report and then with the student they thought had a gun.
"Based on the investigation at this time, there was no threat to any student, staff, or faculty," police said. "No firearm was located, and no injuries were reported."

The investigation was continuing and police asked anyone with information to contact the Sebastopol Police Department at 707-829-4400 and refer to report number 21-0599.
