Report Of Suspicious Car Nets Fentanyl, Heroin: Rohnert Park DPS

Two people were arrested and one person was cited, public safety officials said.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — Heroin, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and cash was seized from a car Wednesday night in Rohnert Park when officers responded to a report of a people acting suspiciously inside a parked car, officials with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.

Officers responded around 11:30 p.m. to the 600 block of Laguna Drive — near Redwood Drive just west of U.S. Highway 101 — and approached the car to find people three people inside, two of whom they saw holding pipes used to smoke heroin, police officials said.

"A search of the vehicle, the individuals and their property resulted in the location of heroin, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and bundles of money indicative of narcotic sales," police officials said.

Two people were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of charges including possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance in jail, possession of drugs for sale, selling drugs and felony parole violation, according to the Rohnert Park DPS.

The third person in the car was cited, police said.

The names of the those arrested or cited were not disclosed in a Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety news release about the incident.
