Residents In Dark After This Morning's Bodega Hwy Crash

PGandE is working to restore electricity to customers in the area. Maybe by tonight.

A PG&E crew is working to repair a power outage caused by a car that crashed into a pole early today on Bodega Highway in Sonoma County, utility and California Highway Patrol officials said.

CHP officers responded to a report of the crash on Bodega Highway near Bohemian Highway shortly before 4 a.m., CHP officials said.

Patrol officers were unable to immediately get to the vehicle because downed power lines were in the way, according to the CHP.

The crash knocked out power for 31 customers in the area, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.

The customers are estimated to have power back by about 6 p.m., Morris said. The utility crew will need to replace the pole and any damaged equipment involved in the accident and restring power lines before service is restored, she said.
