Retail Theft Investigation Recovers Appliances

ROHNERT PARK-COTATI, CA — Rohnert Park detectives recovered suspected stolen Dyson vacuum cleaners, KitchenAid appliances, and Ninja espresso machines from a Vallejo home during an investigation of suspected organized retail theft, authorities said.

On Tuesday, investigators searched the residence of Allen Cabanban Bais in Vallejo.

Bais was identified by Rohnert Park police, Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office, and Target’s Organized Retail Crime investigators, the department said.

Officers searching Bais’ residence Tuesday found what they suspect to be merchandise not purchased by Bais.

Investigators said they suspect the merchandise was stolen from retail businesses and subsequently offered for resale through online marketplaces, according to the Rohnert Park police.

Bais is suspected in other organized retail theft incidents in Sonoma County and nearby counties, the department said.

Officers arrested Bais and took him to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on suspicion of grand theft and commercial burglary.
