Reward Offered In Search For Homicide Suspect, Santa Rosa PD Says

SANTA ROSA, CA — A woman killed March 23 when a man drove a car over her tent at a Santa Rosa homeless encampment was identified Monday by police as Kellie Jones, 43.

Detectives have identified Clifford Adams, 53, of Santa Rosa as the primary suspect in her death.

A reward of up to $2,500 was announced Monday for information that leads to the arrest of Adams.

Investigators believe Adams and another man were in a fight when he got into his car and drove southbound on Roberts Avenue, then across the eastbound lanes directly at Jones who sitting in front of her tent, SRPD Sgt. Christopher Mahurin said.

Jones was fatally injured and was still underneath the car when emergency personnel got to the scene at Roberts Avenue near Sebastopol Road, police said.

Adams took off, police said, and remained at large Monday.

He is wanted on suspicion of homicide and attempted homicide.

"Detectives are seeking the public's assistance in locating Adams, in order to safely take him into custody," Mahurin said.

Police asked anyone who knows his whereabouts or has information related to the investigation to submit a tip online or call SRPD's Communications Center at 707-528-5222.

The reward for information leading to Adams' arrest is being offered by the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund.
