Rohnert Park Man Accused Of Drug Sales Near School, Illegal Guns
Santa Rosa police served simultaneous search warrants at residences in Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa following a months-long investigation.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — A Rohnert Park man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of drug trafficking and possession of illegal firearms following a months-long investigation by the Santa Rosa Police Department.
The investigation began in September when detectives were alerted that 24-year-old Daniel Solorio had illegal guns and was possibly involved in drug sales, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Christopher Mahurin said.
With search warrants in hand, Santa Rosa police officers located Solorio shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday inside a local business in the 300 block of Rohnert Park Expressway, in Rohnert Park.

Solorio was detained and a search of his person revealed a loaded, fully automatic Polymer 80 ghost gun with a high-capacity magazine, Mahurin said.
Immediately after Solorio was taken into custody, Santa Rosa police served simultaneous search warrants at Solorio's residence in the 1000 block of Golf Course Drive in Rohnert Park and a residence in the 800 block of Aston Avenue in Santa Rosa, Mahurin said.

In a search of the Golf Course residence, which is adjacent to Marguerite Hahn Elementary School, detectives found cocaine, evidence of drug sales, significant amounts of ammunition, a commercial-grade money counter, high-capacity magazines and several illegal firearms, Mahurin said.
Records checks on the guns revealed one was stolen, while others met definitions for illegal assault rifles and short-barreled rifles, Mahurin said.
According to Santa Rosa police, the following firearms were recovered during the searches: a gold-plated Colt 9mm Luger handgun, a Micro Draco 7.62 rifle (similar to an AK-47), a 9mm ghost gun with a Glock switch that makes the handgun fully automatic (1,800 rounds per minute), an AR-15 styled rifle, a Masterpiece Arms 9mm (similar to a MAC-10), and two handguns.
Based on the thorough investigation and recent search warrants, police said, Solorio was arrested on suspicion of drug sales, possession of a machine gun, carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a firearm in a school zone, carrying a gun with drugs for sale, drugs for sale in a school zone, possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of an assault rifle and possession of stolen property.
Solorio was booked into Sonoma County jail Wednesday, and a Sonoma County judge denied his release on bail until he makes a court appearance Friday, police said.
