Rohnert Park Man Arrested in Alcohol Compliance Sting

The sting was conducted by the Petaluma Police Department.

The Petaluma Police Department conducted Alcohol Compliance Check Operations on Sunday, November 30, and Thursday, December 4, 2014.

Decoys just under the age of 21 were sent into a total of 39 on-sale bars and restaurants in an attempt to purchase alcohol. Three of the locations sold alcohol to the decoy without checking for identification.

This operation was designed to educate bar and restaurant owners and employees on the importance of keeping Alcohol out of the hands of minors.

One arrest was made for furnishing alcohol to a minor and two warnings were issued.

All 36 bars and restaurants that refused to sell alcohol to PPD decoys without identification had their employees trained in Responsible Beverage Service. The three that did sell to our decoys did not.

This operation was made possible through a partnership with the Department of Health Services.

The following individual was arrested: Christian Taylor James, 29 Year Old, Rohnert Park resident, allegedly sold Alcohol to a minor at Pongo’s Restaurant at 701 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy.

James was released on a citation to appear.
