Rohnert Park Police Say They've Nabbed Minivan-Driving Robber
The suspect was wanted in connection with several armed robberies, or attempts, and always drove the same minivan.
A Rohnert Park man has been arrested as a suspect in a string of armed robberies that have occurred late at night in Rohnert Park over the last few weeks, police announced today.
David Marchant, 48, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and attempted robbery Wednesday evening around 6:30 p.m. Detectives had identified Marchant as a suspect, found him driving away from his home and conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 101.

On Feb. 20, Marchant allegedly attempted to rob Tan’s Donut’s at 931 Golf Course Dr. One week later on Feb. 27, he attempted to rob a Taco Bell at 5000 Redwood Dr., and a Shell gas station at 1484 East Cotati Ave., according to police.
The suspect allegedly drove the same van during each robbery, and based on surveillance footage it was determined that Marchant’s van matched the get-away vehicle, according to police.

After Marchant was taken into custody Wednesday evening, a search warrant was served on his home and vehicle.
Officers located evidence linking him to the robberies, including a pellet gun that apparently looked like a real firearm, which matched the one used during the robberies, according to police.
Marchant was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on $110,000 bail.
