SONOMA COUNTY, CA — CHP officials said alcohol appears to have played a part in a solo-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in unincorporated Sonoma County that killed one person and sent another to a hospital.

The crash was reported at 1:52 a.m. on state Highway 1 just north of Bay Hill Road in Bodega Bay.

Initial reports said that a 2004 Honda Civic was "wrapped around a tree."
