ROHNERT PARK, CA — A 29-year-old Rohnert Park woman died in a crash early Saturday morning just off northbound U.S. Highway 101 in unincorporated Sonoma County, officials with the California Highway Patrol said today. The crash was first reported at 4:51 a.m. just off Highway 101 south of Lytton Springs Road.
The driver of a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder was driving at about 60 mph when she allowed the SUV to drift to the right, off the highway, and into a tree, CHP officials said. The crash killed the right front passenger in the vehicle. CHP officials said neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash. The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, according to CHP officials.
