Ronnie Lott Evacuated From Santa Rosa Fire: Report

BREAKING: The former San Francisco 49er was in town for a celebrity golf tournament.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Among the thousands of evacuees from the fast-moving wildfires in Sonoma and Napa counties Sunday evening into Monday was former San Francisco 49er Ronnie Lott. TMZ reported that Lott and other star athletes were in town for the two-day UCSF Medical Center Celebrity Golf Classic, which kicked off Sunday in Windsor.

Lott and several of the other celebrity attendees were staying at Fountaingrove Inn in Santa Rosa, according to the report, but were evacuated as the Tubbs Fire crossed Highway 101 and raged into Santa Rosa.

"A witness at the hotel tells us the situation escalated so quickly, one guest jumped out of the hotel window and suffered a broken arm trying to escape," TMZ reported.

The Fountaingrove, Coffey Park and Hopper Avenue areas of Santa Rosa were among the hardest hit by the devastating firestorm, with the Fountaingrove Inn not spared from damage.

"The volume of destruction is hard to comprehend. It's unprecedented in Santa Rosa," said Assistant Santa Rosa Fire Marshal Paul Lowenthal. "People were separated or trapped and had to be rescued."

A statement Monday on the hotel's website said the inn and its steakhouse "fell victim to the devastating fire" and at this time are "unable to conduct business in any capacity."
