Scotland Fire Jumps To 1.5 Acres Sunday

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — What started as a small roadside brush fire this weekend spread quickly enough to draw concern.

Cal Fire reported the "Scotland Fire"late Sunday morning near the 700 block of Los Alamos Road east of Santa Rosa.

The fire initially consumed about a half-acre with a moderate rate of spread, according to Cal Fire. About an hour later, firefighters said forward progress had been stopped after the fire grew to roughly one acre.

Cal Fire’s final update about an hour later said the fire was mapped at approximately 1.5 acres and was contained. Crews remained in the area for several hours to reinforce containment lines and extinguish hot spots.

No injuries, evacuations, or structure damage were reported, according to Cal Fire.
