Sebastopol PD To Host Active Shooter Response Training At Analy High

Multiple Sonoma County law enforcement agencies will participate in the day-long training exercise.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Multiple Sonoma County law enforcement agencies will join the Sebastopol Police Department for an active shooter response training exercise Sunday at Analy High School.

The campus will be closed to the public during the day-long training exercise. There is no threat to students, staff or the community, according to Sebastopol police.

"Members of the public can expect to see armed law enforcement personnel and emergency vehicles as well as hear simulated gunfire and loud banging sounds in the area until training is complete," the Sebastopol Police Department said in a news release. "Persons of various ages will be utilized as role players during the training."

The exercises are a collaborative effort with the West Sonoma County Union High School District — WSCUHSD —and provide an additional level of preparedness to the training that first responders and school staff undergo on a regular basis, Sebastopol police said.

Sunday's training is the first of several multi-agency drills the Sebastopol Police Department is hosting. The date for the upcoming training sessions will be announced just prior to the events.
