Crews contained the Santa Rosa blaze in less than 30 minutes. [Breaking]

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – Firefighters extinguished a vegetation fire on the side of state Highway 12 in Santa Rosa on Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to South Wright Road near Highway 12 around 2:15 p.m. on reports of a rapidly growing grass fire.

Upon arrival, crews surrounded the fire and began the attack, quickly containing the blaze within 25 minutes.

Fire officials said westbound Highway 12 was briefly closed while firefighters battled the blaze. About 1.5 acres were burned in the fire and officials are conducting an investigation to determine the cause.

There were no injuries reported.
