Sexual Assault Reported On Copeland Creek Path In Rohnert Park
Police ask the the public for help identifying the suspect.

Police are looking for a man in an alleged case of sexual assault early Saturday morning on the Copeland Creek path in Rohnert Park.
The victim was returning from a party, walking on the southern path of Copeland Creek from Snyder Lane near Country Club Drive at about 4 a.m., when the suspect grabbed her from behind, pushed her to the ground and assaulted her, according to a police statement.
The man ran eastbound on Copeland Creek path after the assault. The victim reported the man smelled of alcohol.

The suspect was described as a white man about 40 years old, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has brown hair and a beard lighter in color and a tattoo on his inner left forearm. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light-colored t-shirt and red sweatpants.
Police would not release any additional information today because it’s early in the investigation. Police are hoping that someone out at that time will be able to provide more information.

“We’re hoping someone can help us,” said Sgt. Jeff Justice with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.
