Shooting Investigation Continues In Rohnert Park
Detectives investigated throughout the night after one person was found injured from a gunshot wound.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — One person was rushed to a hospital with injuries suffered in a shooting late Tuesday night in Rohnert Park, police said.
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received a call around 11 p.m. Tuesday about a possible fight on the Copeland Creek Trail in the area of the Santa Alicia footbridge. The caller said they believed they heard a gunshot and then heard someone yell, Rohnert Park DPS Deputy Chief Kevin Kilgore said in a news release.
Officers searched the area and found one victim with an injury consistent with being shot. The victim was rushed to an area hospital by ambulance for immediate medical treatment, Kilgore said.

Detectives were called out and investigated throughout the night.
At 8 a.m. Wednesday, the investigation was ongoing.

"The identities of the victim and possible suspect(s) have yet to be established, and the nature of the victim’s injuries will not be disclosed at this time," Kilgore said. "Due to the active investigation, members of the public are asked to avoid the area of the Copeland Creek Trail between Seed Farm Drive and Commerce Boulevard."
Authorities asked anyone who may have information regarding the incident to call the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Dispatch at 707-584-2600 and refer to case number 22-3609.
