An argument between a man and his mother caused a vehicle collision that injured three people in Rohnert Park on Tuesday evening.

ROHNERT PARK, CA - An argument between a man and his mother caused a vehicle collision that injured three people in Rohnert Park on Tuesday evening, a Department of Public Safety commander said.

Benjamin Moss, the 44-year-old passenger in a 2006 Mustang, grabbed the steering wheel during an argument with his 64-year-old mother as the car traveled east on Rohnert Park Expressway near Sonoma State University around 7:45 p.m., public safety officials said.

Moss intentionally steered the Mustang into the path of an oncoming 2013 Infiniti JX35 SUV driven by a 35-year-old woman. The vehicles collided in the westbound lane and Moss' mother tried to regain control of the Mustang but it struck a curb and redwood tree, according to public safety officials.
