Sonoma Co. Man Cuffed For Alleged DUI, Pedestrian Hit & Run
The 50-year-old victim, who said the vehicle drove directly at him, suffered head injuries and broken bones, according to CHP.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA – California Highway Patrol officers arrested a Healdsburg man on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run near Healdsburg on Tuesday evening.
Jeffrey Young, 50, of Healdsburg, was arrested after CHP officers responded around 6:30 p.m. to a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian on Kinley Drive south of Magnolia Drive in unincorporated Sonoma County just outside of Healdsburg city limits, CHP Officer John Sloat said.
Officers found 50-year-old Santos Gonzalez, who said he was walking north on Kinley Drive when a southbound vehicle drove directly at him, Sloat said. Gonzalez said he tried to run but was struck by the vehicle.

Gonzalez suffered head injuries and broken bones and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Sloat said.
CHP officers found a Ford F-150 truck off the road that had evidence of the collision and they learned the driver, Young, had been taken to Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital.

Young said he had no recollection of the collision and appeared to be extremely intoxicated at the hospital.
The officers evaluated Young and arrested him on suspicion of felony DUI and hit-and-run, and he was booked into Sonoma County Jail, Sloat said.
