Sonoma County Aiport Shuttle Takes Travelers Past Security
New bus service adds security screening in Santa Rosa to existing airport shuttles and flights.

Cutline: Landline’s new connection moves bag check and security to Santa Rosa before passengers board a bus bound for SFO’s airfield.
North Bay travelers will soon check their bags and clear security at Sonoma County Airport before a nonstop bus delivers them inside SFO’s security perimeter.
The Landline Company, Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport, and San Francisco International Airport announced that their “Straight to Gate” service will begin November 17. Eight daily round trips will connect the airports.

Adults will pay $55 each way. Children 15 and younger will ride free with a paying adult.
Passengers flying United, Alaska, Hawaiian, American, and JetBlue from SFO can use the outbound service. Landline will transfer their checked bags to their flights, while passengers enter the terminal without another security screening.

Returning travelers on any airline can collect their luggage and board a coach outside baggage claim at any SFO terminal. The wheelchair-accessible buses offer leather seats, Starlink Wi-Fi, charging outlets, and restrooms.
Travelers carrying mobile boarding passes and no checked luggage can go directly to security in Santa Rosa, bypassing Landline’s counter.
Landline founder and CEO David Sunde told the North Bay Journal that the drive will take about two hours, with schedules allowing another 30 to 40 minutes during heavy traffic. Security rules prohibit intermediate stops and require locked, monitored baggage compartments.
The new connection joins Groome Transportation’s established service between Sonoma County Airport and both SFO and Oakland International Airport.
Groome, formerly Sonoma County Airport Express, lists the same standard adult fare of $55 each way from Sonoma County.
Groome’s published schedule lists 17 daily departures from Sonoma County Airport to SFO and seven to Oakland. Buses stop in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, and Petaluma; Oakland buses also stop in San Rafael.
"People love traveling. What they don't love is everything it takes to get to the airport," Landline's founder David Sunde said in an announcement.
Sunde said more stops would follow.
