Sonoma State Slugger Scores Conference Softball Award
Myers sparkles against national power; San Bernardino to visit next.

Sonoma State University catcher Skylnn Myers starred over the weekend against perennial national power Humboldt State University to earn the Worth/California Collegiate Athletic Association Softball Player of the Week award.
Myers, who keyed a split of four games at Humbolt, is the second Sonoma State player to win a weekly award this season. Samantha Lipperd was selected conference Pitcher of the Week previously.
"Skylynn had a fantastic weekend," Head Coach Jennifer Bridges said. "Humboldt could not pitch anything by her. She was seeing the ball extremely well and making great contact on every swing. She was a crucial element to our success this weekend."
Myers pitched nine hits in 14 at-bats for the Seawolves against the Lumberjacks. She scored six runs, with two doubles, a home run and seven runs batted in.
The catcher had two or more hits in all four games against the Lumberjacks. She was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in a 7-0 win on Saturday. She homered and drove in four runs at Sunday's Sonoma State victory.

Myers tops the conference with 24 hits and seven doubles. She is batting .414 in the CCAA to go with 15 RBIs in 17 games.
Sonoma State (12-5, 9-3 CCAA) plays at the Academy of Art in San Francisco on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The 'Wolves return to CCAA play in Sonoma Friday and Saturday against Cal State San Bernardino (11-5, 7-3 CCAA).
