Sonoma State Student Suspected Of DUI In 5-Vehicle Collision
Rohnert Park police say the crash Saturday night sent one person to a hospital.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — A Sonoma State student was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI after allegedly causing a five-vehicle collision that sent one person to the hospital on Saturday evening in Rohnert Park, police said. According to police, 20-year-old Matthew Riedel was determined to be at fault for the collision involving his Volvo at the intersection of East Cotati Avenue and Camino Colegio around 7:34 p.m.
Rohnert Park police say officers who spoke to Riedel after the collision said he displayed signs that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
One woman who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the collision was taken to the hospital after complaining of head and neck injuries.

Riedel was booked into the county jail.
