Squealing Tires In Sebastopol Brings DUI Arrest
An officer investigating the sound of squealing tires found the scene of a DUI crash in Sebastopol Sunday night, police said.

SEBASTOPOL - An officer investigating the sound of squealing tires found the scene of a DUI crash in Sebastopol Sunday night, police said.
The officer was in the vicinity of Jewell and Bodega avenues at 8:09 p.m. when he heard the tires squeal. He could also see smoke and smell rubber burning, police said.
When he arrived at the scene of the crash the officer found a pickup truck with front-end damage facing the wrong way on Jewell Avenue, near the Sebastopol Fire Department, with black streaks on the roadway from the burned tires.

The driver had hit a large tree, disabling the truck, according to police.
Cody Alan Beaver, a 24-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, obstructing an officer, battery of a peace officer and driving on a suspended license.

There was also an outstanding warrant for Beaver's arrest.
It was his second DUI arrest in California, with an additional DUI conviction in Indiana.
During the arrest and booking process Beaver allegedly resisted officers, injuring one of them.
