Journey through the history of America's unique art
form, jazz, with SSU's three jazz combos. The Classic Jazz Ensemble hones their
skills by performing tunes that have become considered "standard"
repertoire over the last century. Bebop Ensemble focuses on the giants of the
formative years of modern jazz - Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Tadd Dameron,
and many others. The Funk/Fusion Ensemble explores the intersection of jazz
& rock that evolved from the late 60's through the present day.
