New SSU Play Tackles Meaning, Relationships

"Seance" is written and directed by Sonoma State students and opens March 7

Sex, weed, and tacos abound when Alex, a college student, comes to arid Fresno for the funeral of her sometime lover and searches for a way to honor her memory in a new SSU production “The Séance,” which opens March 7.

Written by student playright Dylan Waite, "The Seance" is a comic mosaic of personalities who struggle against the harsh environment of a literal and spiritual drought.

Waite's written works have been presented at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, Bay Area Playwrights Festival and Sonoma State University's “Super Mega Molten Hot Lava New Play Festival." Waite also created the "Midnight Theater" series presented at Sonoma State University.

Runs through March 27 at Studio 76 at Ives Hall, 1801 E. Cotati Ave. in Rohnert Park. Tickets are free for students and $10-$17 for the general public. Purchase by calling 707-664-2353 or online at http://www.sonoma.edu/tix.
