Fresh from its fall concert tour of Southern
California, the Sonoma State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform Ron
Nelson’s ebullient Lauds, Praise High
Day; Norman Dello Joio’s Variants
on a Medieval Tune; Mason Bates’s outrageously hip Mothership; and Oliver Nickel’s
brilliant transcription of Danzón No.
2 by Arturo Márquez— made famous by conductor Gustavo Dudamel. Also
performing will be the superb Casa Grande High School Symphonic Band from Petaluma.
