During the summer, many of us turn the temperature down in our Spas, keeping us cool and refreshed while still enjoying the hydrotherapy benefits. If your Spa has an economy mode, you can turn the temp down and set the filter to run for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours at night, leaving it cool during the day. This will save you some money on your energy bill. Also summer is a good time to completely drain your Spa water completely. First, pour Spa Purge in the water and follow directions to let it work overnight. Spa Purge will remove organic buildup like oils, lotions, and sweat and will restore your Spa’s system to sparkling new. After you drain your Spa, polish and clean the acrylic shell with Gel Gloss Polish and Cleaner. Both available at our Cotati store. After this, your Spa should be shiny, clean and healthy!
Rodents can often be an unseen problem if you don’t have a rodent proof spa with a solid base. They tend to hide in the foam core, can chew through pipes and overall wreak havoc on your Spa’s structure and equipment. Don’t let this happen! Cover any exposed openings with chicken wire, brillo pads, etc. Always have rodent repellents such as Botanical Rodent Repellant or MouseAway. Both have naturally derived ingredients and are safe to use around your Spa area. Remember to tie up the repellant bag, otherwise the rodents may carry it away!
