From Al Francis:
A sunny sky, a nice breeze, music and the smell of lots of BBQ was the perfect recipe for the 5th Annual Wine Country Big Q & Festival Saturday held at the Sonoma Mountain Village near Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park.
So many people lined up to get into the event that Judy Groverman Walker, event director, scrambled to get more help selling tickets at the two entrance points.

But once inside, there was lots of room to wander and select from the 30 competing in the Kansas City Barbecue Society nationally sanctioned event, the only in Northern California.
In addition to sampling some of the best of the best, attendees were also able to vote for People’s Choice awards for BBQ, Tri Tip, Beans, Bacon Dessert, Sauce and Cider categories.

There was also music by Soul to Soul, a Stevie Ray Vaughn tribute band.
