The driver of the vehicle — a dark red Hyundai Tucson — appeared to be parking in the lot of the Montecito Shopping Center on Friday morning when the car jumped the curb, crashed into the front of the store, and smashed into a check stand.
The driver, a 67-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Santa Rosa Police spokesman Matt North said. Police said she was walking with a boot while driving.
The damage was estimated at $20,000, according to reports, and the store was expected to remain closed for at least the remainder of the day.
