Thieves Target Work Trucks In Rohnert Park, Steal Expensive Tools: Dept. Of Public Safety

Breaking: Rohnert Park public safety Commander Aaron Johnson said trucks were stolen from three separate neighborhoods Tuesday.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- Three work trucks carrying expensive tools were stolen Tuesday from Rohnert Park neighborhoods, according to the city's Department of Public Safety. Although the trucks were later recovered several from miles where they were stolen, all the high-dollar tools were missing, officials said.

The trucks were taken from the D, E and S sections, according to Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety Commander Aaron Johnson. Officers responded and determined that thieves had broken into the vehicles, punched in the ignitions, took the vehicles to remote locations, then stole expensive tools with high resale values, Johnson said.

The total loss was estimated to be about $10,000, the commander said.
