Transient Fatally Shot In Santa Rosa, Police Say
Police are investigating the death as a homicide.
SANTA ROSA, CA — A man was fatally shot early Friday morning behind a Santa Rosa business, police said.
A security guard called the Santa Rosa Police Department at 12:22 a.m. to report there was a man unconscious and not breathing at the rear of a business in the 400 block of College Avenue, Santa Rosa police Lt. Ryan Corcoran said.
Emergency medical personnel determined the man, a 29-year-old Santa Rosa transient, suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Corcoran said.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Team responded and began a homicide investigation.
"The victim’s name will not be released until next of kin can be notified," Corcoran said.

A reward up to $2,500 is offered by the Sonoma County Alliance for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects.
