Vehicle Falls 80 Feet Off Cliff In Sonoma County: Authorities
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office shared video of the helicopter rescue in which the vehicle appeared to be complete upside down.

BODEGA BAY, CA — A person was rescued in coastal Sonoma County after their vehicle went over a cliff and dropped about 80 feet, according to authorities.
The incident occurred Friday in the 6700 block of California Highway 1 in Bodega Bay near Gleason Beach, authorities said, with the vehicle coming to rest near rocky shoreline.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office shared video of the helicopter rescue in which the vehicle appeared to be completely upside down. The victim had to be extricated and was brought to a waiting ambulance using a 100-foot line, the sheriff’s office said.

In addition to the sheriff’s office, the Sonoma County Fire District, the Monte Rio Fire Protection District, California State Parks and the California Highway Patrol assisted in the response.
The crash is under investigation, according to authorities.
