Water Main Break Damages State Highway 12 In Santa Rosa

One eastbound lane was expected to remain closed much of Thursday, the Santa Rosa Police Department said.

SANTA ROSA, CA — A large water main break shut down eastbound state Highway 12 in Santa Rosa for several hours Thursday morning, but one lane was reopened to through traffic shortly before 9 a.m., according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

The city first reported the water main break around 5 a.m. Thursday. The incident caused damage to the roadway and forced the closure of both eastbound lanes between Mission Boulevard and Middle Rincon Road.

Westbound lanes were not affected.

One eastbound lane was expected to remain closed until late Thursday at the earliest as crews worked to repair the water main and the road, the Santa Rosa Police Department said.
