Wife Of Sonoma County Sheriff Charged After Crash Into House, 1 Injured
The county sheriff's wife faces a DUI charge after a crash into a home that injured one resident, police say.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The wife of Sonoma County's sheriff is facing a DUI charge for a crash into a home, causing one injury early Saturday.
Santa Rosa Police arrested Natasha Whittinghill, 47, of Santa Rosa for the early Saturday crash. She was charged with felony DUI that caused injury.
Sheriff Eddie Engram addressed his wife's arrest in a Facebook post.

"As a husband, I am greatly concerned about my wife’s well-being. As a citizen and Sheriff, I am also concerned about the well-being of the person inside the home who suffered injuries," Engram wrote.
Police had responded to a vehicle that crashed into a home in the 5200 block of Beaumont Way in Santa Rosa around 12:51 a.m. Saturday. A resident in her 50s had minor cuts from shards of glass due to the crash and was taken to the hospital.

Police believe the driver of a Tesla had crashed into the house after the vehicle left the road, hit a fence and struck a tree. According to police, officers at the scene determined Whittinghill was intoxicated enough to impair her ability to safely drive.
Whittinghill was later taken to the Sonoma County Jail.
The sheriff directed inquires to Santa Rosa Police, which is handling the crash investigation.
