Woman Killed In Penngrove Accident Is Identified

The Sonoma County coroner's office has identified a woman who was ejected from her vehicle and fatally struck by her friend's car.

SANTA ROSA - The Sonoma County coroner's office has identified a woman who was ejected from her vehicle and fatally struck by her friend's car near Penngrove early Saturday morning as Emily Drew, 27, of Petaluma.

Drew lost control of her 2007 Toyota RAV4 while speeding north on Davis Lane in unincorporated Sonoma County around 12:20 a.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

She was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected when the Toyota overturned south of East Railroad Avenue, CHP officials said.

Kyle Turek, 28, of Petaluma, who was traveling behind Drew in a 2011 Honda Fit, struck and killed her, CHP officials said.

Turek was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

He posted $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sonoma County Superior Court on Thursday morning.

CHP officials said a preliminary investigation indicates Turek and Drew were drinking at various bars in Petaluma before the incident.
