Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In SMART Train Collision
Police are investigating what led to the early morning collision involving a SMART train and a woman who was severely injured.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A woman suffered life-threatening injuries today after being struck by a Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train.
Santa Rosa police responded at about 6:41 a.m. to the early morning report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a SMART train.
Authorities found the adult woman near the railroad tracks south of Piner Road.

She was unresponsive and had major, life-threatening injuries, according to police. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital.
Police have not reported her condition as of this afternoon.
