- Did you know Roseville has more than 60 miles of creeks running through our open spaces? And it's up to us to make sure they're great places to visit for generations to come. The City of Roseville is looking for volunteers for the Adopt-A-Creek program. "Volunteers are needed to keep creeks clean, help prevent erosion and keep invasive plants from overrunning and potentially destroying wildlife habitat." Saturday, March 11, the group is working at Kasberg Creek at Mahaney. Register to join them! (Roseville Today)
- Folsom City Council member and Vice Mayor YK Chalamcherla is gearing up to challenge freshman congressman Josh Hoover to represent the 7th District. Chalamcherla is trying to flip the seat back to blue after Hoover defeated Democrat Ken Cooley in the last election. "Chalamcherla said he plans to focus his campaign on state budget accountability, homelessness, economic growth and climate change." (The Tribune)
- Placer County is growing by leaps and bounds. The Board of Supervisors took a look at some new proposed staffing models to meet the demands of the growing county. Three options were presented by staff. One supervisor preferred "option B," which was a more robust option. Four supervisors supported "option A," which increases staffing, but at a lower level with less cost. That option was the one that moved to the next phase. "Staff will return to the board with a proposed ordinance for the staffing model during its March 14 meeting." (Gold Country Media)
- Carson David Schewe of Roseville is on trial for murder in the fentanyl death of 20-year-old Kade Webb. During Schewe's arraignment hearing, his trial date was set for June 9. Schewe is the first Placer County resident to be charged with murder for distribution of fentanyl. He pleaded not guilty. (Roseville Press Tribune)

- Hey kids! "Lace up your shoes and walk, bike, or wheel to Winter Walk & Roll to School Day on Thursday, March 9." Hey, parents! "Be alert for increased pedestrian activity around schools." (City of Roseville via Facebook)
- "To help reduce vulnerability to natural disasters, Roseville is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan. Attend a virtual public meeting, 5 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 16 and learn about potential risks in our area, steps the City is taking, and what you can do to be more prepared." (Roseville Fire Department via Facebook)
- "Join us at the museum this Saturday, March 11th from 11am to 1pm for the Carnegie Kids Club! This months theme is 'green' in celebration of St Patrick's Day! Children between the ages of 6-12 are welcome to attend and enjoy story time along with an educational arts and crafts project featuring the color green! Rumor has it that leprechauns have run amok in the museum and may even make an appearance at this Saturday's event! Register today!"
