Bosch begins silicon carbide chip sample production at California plant backed by $225 million CHIPS Act agreement (gcn.com) — Bosch has begun sample production of silicon carbide chips at its Roseville facility, backed by up to $225 million in CHIPS Act funding toward a $2 billion site transformation. The project will modernize the longtime semiconductor plant, retain its experienced workforce, and shift to advanced SiC technology crucial for electric vehicles and energy systems, with full commercial production targeted for 2026.

Driver arrested after pursuit in west Placer County (2news.com) — A traffic stop near Industrial and Athens avenues in west Placer County turned into a short vehicle and foot pursuit before deputies arrested a Lodi man on multiple felony charges. Roseville police and fire departments, along with the CHP, helped track and safely end the chase, which also involved outstanding kidnapping and domestic violence warrants from Bay Area agencies.

Prosecutors say most of the money was spent gambling, and detail how payments were redirected and records altered, while also emphasizing he is presumed innocent and highlighting fraud-prevention steps for businesses.
