  1. They've been talking about it for decades: what to do with the last big patch of undeveloped land in Rocklin. The land sits adjacent to William Jessup University. "For years, private developer and owner Clover Valley Partners planned on building more than 500 high-end, single-family homes there." But local conservationists didn't much care for that idea. Well, the conservationists won. Jessup is going to buy the property and let it sit, just as it is. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  2. If you've driven through Citrus Heights lately, chances are, your car has bottomed out at least once on your journey, with all of the potholes that opened up with the last series of storms. The city is asking drivers to report these holes so they can be filled in. “We encourage residents to be the city’s eyes and ears and report issues they experience out in the community, including potholes on commercial or residential streets and other public works concerns,” said Meghan Huber, Citrus Heights’ economic development and community engagement director. (ABC10.com KXTV)
  3. Four Corners Park in Roseville is officially open! The city council declared construction finished at its meeting on Wednesday. The new park "features a children’s play area with swings, a basketball half-court and two bocce courts. There are also paths winding through for walking as well as a tricycle track." (Sacramento Bee via MSN)
  4. Placer County will receive FEMA assistance for certain repairs from January's storm systems. The public assistance will cover "qualified emergency work and repairing or replacing disaster-damaged facilities and infrastructure." Unfortunately, Placer hasn't qualified for funding for individuals, so there's no federal funding for residents who may have sustained property damage. (Roseville Today)
