- Granite Bay's Rick Singer was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in federal prison. In addition, he will be required to undergo three years of supervised release and forfeit $10 million. He's scheduled to report to prison on February 27. (CBS Sacramento via MSN)
- Folsom Lake College's prison and reentry program will receive $1 million in federal aid as part of the $1.7 trillion spending bill signed into law by President Biden. Representative Ami Bera, who sponsored the funding, said via email: “This federal funding will help reduce recidivism, violence and overall conflict in our community while equipping students with increased job training and skills upon their reentry into society.” (Sacramento Bee via MSN)

- Do you know an entrepreneurial high school student? They can now apply for Roseville Rising, "a 12-week program designed to inspire entrepreneurial ideas and innovation." The program is run out of the Roseville Venture Lab. The group will meet for two hours per week for three months, before a final presentation to community "investors" for prizes. (roseville.ca.us)
