- So, there's this rock at Sierra College Natural History Museum in Rocklin — a fossil, actually, that was dug up in the '90s in Granite Bay as part of a construction project. And it sat in a drawer in the museum until a researcher from Kansas came along. He took one look and said "Oh my God, this is it!" He'd been looking for evidence that the species of plant we now know as producing such commodities as coffee and tomatoes, was actually around long before we realized and survived the cataclysm that killed the dinosaurs. He found that link to history right here in Granite Bay. Cool! (Roseville Today)
- On February 2 a search warrant was issued for a home on Alnwick Drive in western Roseville. The home had been under surveillance by Roseville PD since December. Upon search of the home, police retrieved "2.6 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.1 pounds of fentanyl, five ounces of heroin, two loaded rifles, a stolen handgun, body armor and $7,000 in cash." The resident of the home was arrested and faces several charges. (KTXL FOX 40 Sacramento)
