Elderly Woman Dies, Two Juveniles Seriously Injured in Roseville Collision on Douglas Boulevard (pacificattorneygroup.com) — A deadly two-car crash at Douglas Boulevard and King Road in Roseville killed a 78-year-old woman and sent three others, including two juveniles, to the hospital Thursday afternoon. Police say the youths suffered major but survivable injuries, while investigators are still determining whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
   

2. 250 Starbucks are closing, with these Sacramento and Roseville stores among them (sacbee.com) — Roseville coffee drinkers are losing the Starbucks at 10441 Fairway Drive, one of 250 U.S. stores the company is closing, with some Sacramento-area locations shutting as soon as Saturday, Sept. 26. Starbucks says affected stores are underperforming or not meeting customer experience goals, and the closures represent about 1% of its North American locations. Check before heading to your usual spot this weekend.
   

3. Rescue Dog Learns to Play After Life Tied to a Tree — Now He Needs a Family of His Own (dogtime.com) — A Roseville-based rescue is looking for a local family to adopt Lucky, a 2-year-old Labrador mix rescued from life tied to a tree in Stockton. Now playful, good with kids and other pets, and leash-trained, he's still polishing his house manners but thriving in foster care. Interested residents can apply through Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue in Roseville.
   

4. Northern California is getting a massive inland surf resort with 5-acre wave lagoon (sfchronicle.com) — Placer County has approved the Alchemy Surf Resort just north of Roseville, bringing a five-acre surf lagoon, 100-room hotel, bungalows, restaurants, and action-sports facilities to the Placer One development. Construction could start in 2027 and take about two years, offering Roseville residents nearby surfing, lessons, youth programs, and year-round recreation without driving to the coast.
   

5.
